Bills Cut Peterman
As expected, the Buffalo Bills have cut Quarterback Nathan Peterman. With Josh Allen healthy, and both Barkley and Anderson outplaying Peterman, this is the only move the Bills could make. NFL teams never carry four healthy Quarterbacks on the active roster, and with that said, rarely carry three. I wouldn’t be completely surprised if the Bills added Peterman to the Practice Squad given the time of year and his familiarity with the playbook. Allen and Anderson are both one injury away from being shut down for the season so having Peterman on the practice squad, if he clears waivers might make the most sense.
Moving on from Peterman, the Bills now only have one Quarterback under contract going into next season; Allen. Although there will be plenty of potential options in free agency including but not limited to: Eli Manning, Blake Bortles, Nick Foles, Sam Bradford, Jameis Winston, Ryan Tannehill, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Joe Flacco, among others, it might make sense to retain Matt Barkley for at least training camp as a camp arm or a third string option.
All of that will be figured out at a later date, but as for now, the worst Quarterback in the league is no longer a Buffalo Bills.
