Bills vs Jets Recap

The Bills collapsed in the second half against the Jets, losing 27-23. The Bills entered the fourth quarter winning 20-13, but couldn’t get anything to go their way for the last 15-minutes. Quarterback Josh Allen was once agin mediocre in the passing game, completing just 50% of his passes (18-36) for 205 yards. Allen also threw two critical interceptions and finished with a 44.4 Quarterback Rating. Allen still needs time to develop as a pro passer, and continues to make the easy throws look hard. Allen will rely on his legs for the rest of the season as he ran for another 101 yards today.

Let’s also understand that Allen didn’t get a lot of help from the rest of the running game, combining for a total of 75 yards (McKenzie had 22). Also the receive corp had several untimely drops throughout the game. Yes, Allen will need to take a little off of his throws, but these guys are also paid to catch the ball. If the ball hits you in the hands, or bounces square off your chest, you lose a little sympathy from me.

The Bills learned another hard coupled of lessons today, you can’t turn the ball over and expect to win, and you need to play a full 60-minutes in this league. Buffalo is unlikely to make any serious strides during the remainder of the season, but should use the final three games to showcase guys like Robert Foster, Wyatt Teller, and Levi Wallace who we continue to talk about. The Bills are lucky they play at home next week against the Lions, because players on both sides were dropping like flies. Unfortunately, it’s that time of year and guys are going to get banged up. Thankfully, the Bills will be able to get as much treatment as possible this week since they do not have to travel.
