Bills vs. Browns Preview (Preseason Week 2)
Who: Buffalo Bills (0-1) vs. Cleveland Browns (1-0)
When: Friday, August 17th 7:30 p.m.
Where: FristEnergy Stadium
This week the Bills travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. The Browns are coming off a 20-10 win against the New York Giants last week, a game in which Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield both played very well. Although the Browns didn't get their running game going last week, the Browns backfield along with their offensive line has the talent needed to for s strong running attack.
As for the Bills, it'll be interested to see who gets the start at Quarterback considering both McCarron and Peterman are dealing with small injuries this week. For now, I'll lean towards McCarron getting the start, with Peterman and Allen coming off the bench in that order. Also, this could very well be the game that we begin to see some guys separating themselves from their roster competition. I'll be keeping a close eye once again on the Offensive Line, Wide Receivers, and Corners. Will Ryan Groy lock down the starting Center job? Will Marcus Murphy have another strong showing? Which of the Wide Receivers will break through for the final spot or two up for grabs?
On the defensive side of the ball, It'll be interesting to see how the coaching staff works Trent Murphy, Shaq Lawson, and Eddie Yarbrough in on the rotation in certain situations. This will obviously depend on how healthy Murphy is, but I do expect him to get some reps.
Overall, I think this game has the potential to be a high scoring affair. Both teams have talented backup quarterbacks who should be able to move the ball at will against mostly vanilla defenses. I suspect the Bills to have the lead once again going in to halftime, but surrender a good amount of points as the game continues.
