Tyree Jackson Declares For NFL Draft
University at Buffalo Quarterback Tyree Jackson announced today his intention to enter the 2019 NFL Draft. Jackson will forego his senior season and will finish his collegiate career with 6,999 passing yards and 49 touchdowns in 32 starts.
For me, this is a tough one. I would have liked to see Jackson continue to play at Buffalo and I feel as if he needed another 12 or 13 starts to refine his skill set. Jackson could have transferred to another school to continue his college career; however, after entering the NCAA transfer pool, he must have not received the attention he was hoping for. Therefore, he declared for the NFL Draft. That timeline is a little troublesome, if you're not among one of the top prospects at your position in a weak quarterback class, why would you at least not transfer to a bigger conference?
I’m not one to question players who have up until this point, played the game for free. At the end of the end, Jackson needs to do what is best for him and his family. I just hope the he proves everyone wrong at the next level.
My prediction is that Jackson uses his 6’ 7“ 245 lbs. frame and plays Tight End during his NFL career. I see a lot of similarities between him and Logan Thomas.
